Bachelor's Degree Programs

FSW offers six bachelor’s degree programs that prepare students for high-demand careers in southwest Florida. The bachelor’s degree offers students the opportunity to continue their education beyond the associate’s level. At FSW, students first complete an associate degree before entering into a bachelor’s degree program.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Cardiopulmonary Sciences is a program designed for cardiovascular technologists and respiratory care professionals who want to advance their education. The Cardiopulmonary Sciences BS provides career advancement for entry-level health profession practitioners. Students will develop management and leadership skills and gain a broader-based knowledge of healthcare delivery skills. The program provides a career and educational pathway for cardiovascular technologists and respiratory care professionals who have earned an Associate of Science degree in a related area or who hold comparable certification and licensure to treat patients.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Elementary Education is designed to prepare individuals to teach all subject areas grades K-6. The program provides an educational pathway for students who have earned an Associate in Arts degree to include EDF 2005. The program includes courses in teaching students with English as a second language, students with exceptionalities, reading competency, classroom management, assessment, and integrated approaches to teaching methodologies at the elementary school level. Students will learn to facilitate lessons that integrate math and science, health, music and movement, as well as literature, fine arts, language arts, and social sciences. Upon graduation, students will meet the mandated state teaching requirements for certification in Elementary Education with ESOL and Reading Endorsement.

Bachelor of Applied Science

Information Systems Technology

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology program is designed to prepare graduates for higher level employment in Information Technology management in areas such as systems programming, systems design and architecture, network security, and help desk support services. The program also provides the professional development necessary to help meet the growing regional demand for skilled Information Technology workers in Southwest Florida.

This degree is specifically designed to provide a career and educational pathway particularly for graduates from Florida SouthWestern State College's Associate in Science in Computer Programming and Analysis and/or the Associate in Science in Network Systems Technology.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a rigorous online RN to BSN degree completion program for Registered Nurses (RNs). Applicants should carefully consider if an online Program best meets their learning style. Enrollment is limited based on the number of available seats each semester. Applicants must complete all General Education courses, RN to BSN Program Specific courses, and the foreign language competency before applying.

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration (BAS PSAD) is designed to prepare individuals as leaders and administrators in public safety related professions. Students enrolling in the program bring a variety of safety and security backgrounds to enrich the educational experience, including legal studies and law enforcement, corrections, fire science, and emergency medical services. The program provides a career and educational pathway for students who have earned an Associate in Science degree in a Public Safety discipline or an Associate in Arts with electives chosen from the Public Safety field.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Supervision and Management (SMAN) program is designed to prepare individuals as managerial and supervisory personnel in a variety of professions. The program provides a career and educational pathway for students who have earned an Associate in Science degree in a professional and technical discipline. This degree also provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with an Associate in Arts degree and interest or experience in acquiring leadership, business management, and supervisory skills.
