Jewelry & Metalsmithing
(Lee CE Class)

This is a studio style class and open
to all levels. Beginners will learn the
basic techniques of metalsmithing
and jewelry design including layout,
sawing, piercing, filing, soldering and
finishing. Becoming proficient in these
skills is essential to the creation of
well-made jewelry. Demonstrations
will be given by the instructor to
familiarize the student with the proper
techniques involved in developing
each of these primary skills. For
advanced students wishing to expand
their knowledge of design
development and add to their
repertoire of metalsmithing
techniques, instructor will assist in
exploring new techniques such as
stone setting, surface embellishment,
chasing and repoussé, etching, foldforming,
forging, riveting and shellforming.
