The First Year Experience Office continually develops and coordinates workshops, events, and community activities to help new students transition to the college environment and encourage students to engage and connect to the campus and surrounding community.
Workshops take place on campus and help student develop skills to use inside and outside the classroom.
FYE events are activities provided to encourage first year students to try something new and meet new people. It’s one of many ways students can actively join the campus culture here at Florida SouthWestern State College.

We hope that first year students will be engaged not only on campus but also in the greater community. The purpose of community activities is to expose and connect students to their surroundings and together be an agent for positive change.
