What is the brief history of this Museum?

n January 2000, Dr. Jacob Goldberger & Dr. Roger Scott founded the Museum of Medical History in memory of Dr. David Bernstein as a not for profit corporation, dedicated to the collection and preservation of objects that are characteristic of the development of Medicine and Medical Practice. The Museum has displayed its developing collection in many locations; however Florida SouthWestern State College is now the first permanent home for the principal segment of the vast collection as well as the founding Curator.

How has the Collection developed?

The collection has been totally donated by both individuals and groups over the last 11 years. It represents one of the most extensive and eclectic collections of instruments, equipment, documents and medical educational materials in the State of Florida.

The museum has been both privately and publicly funded.
