Honors Scholar Program

Florida SouthWestern State College's Honors Scholar Program offers students an enriched and challenging educational experience that extends learning beyond the classroom. We strive to cultivate academic excellence, skillful leadership, and commitment to social responsibility. As a rigorous, transdisciplinary program, we inspire students to seek out transformative experiences and participate in the world in new ways.

Applications are accepted twice a year, March 1st and July 1st, regardless of the day on which that date falls. You can expect to hear back from the director regarding your admission status by mid-March and mid-July.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Participation in a community of highly motivated, intellectually curious students and faculty who are committed to free inquiry, civilized debate, cultural creation, and community service.

  • Access to Honors seminars which emphasize hands-on, project-based, experiential learning.
  • Smaller class sizes which facilitate personalized instruction from talented faculty and foster mentoring relationships.
