Dining Plan FAQs

What is the difference between the Dining Plans and just purchasing Dining Dollars?

Dining Plans are a predefined value of dining dollars, by purchasing one of these plans you receive an incentive of FREE Bonus BUC$. Our Dining Plans are a one semester commitment and the value expires at the end of the Academic Term.

Dining Dollars are ONLY accepted at FSW Dining Locations. Dining Plans and Dining Dollars are nontransferable and non-refundable.

What is the difference with the LIMITED plan?

The limited plan allows for a maximum spending of $35 per day. The standard plan does not restrict spending, so a person could conceivably spend all money on their plan very quickly if buying large quantities of food or treating friends. The limited plan forces the plan to last longer while allowing enough funds per day to cover a standard breakfast, lunch and dinner purchase in our dining locations.

What is the difference between Dining Dollars, Bonus BUC$ and Campus BUC$?

All funds function the same way, any transactions made are deducted from the total balance on the plan or amount loaded in that fund. The difference between these funds is where they are accepted and their expirations.

  • Dining Dollars can ONLY be used in dining locations college-wide. Dining Plans and funds associated with them expire at the end of each term and are non-refundable if not used. Additional Dining Dollars can be purchased separate or in addition to a Dining Plan. These funds would also be restricted to dining locations college-wide and never expire. Upon graduation or separation from the college, a refund can be obtained for any remaining balance of Dining Dollars (funds not associated to Dining Plans).
  • Bonus BUCI are provided as incentives for purchasing one of our Dining Plans and can be used at any FSW dining, bookstore, or student printing locations college-wide. Bonus BUC$ expire at the end of each term and are non-refundable if not used.
  • Campus BUCI accepted at all FSW dining, bookstore, and student printing locations college-wide. Campus BUC$ never expire and upon graduation or separation from the College, a refund can be obtained for any remaining balance in your Campus BUC$ account. This form can be obtained online or through the BUC Card Office. Any refund amount will first be applied to any outstanding balance owed to FSW.

Does my Dining Plan expire?

Yes, the Dining Plans have beginning and end dates that correspond to each Academic Term. Any value left on the Dining Plan at the end of the semester does NOT carry forward and no refunds of dining dollars are provided. When purchasing a Dining Plan you are signing a contract with terms and conditions and will know the beginning and end dates of the plan.

How do I pay for my Dining Plan using excess financial aid?

If you would like to pay for a Dining Plan using excess financial aid, fill out the Dining Plan Contract and select 'Financial Aid' as the payment option. The cost of the Dining Plan will be posted to your student account. Should you not have enough excess aid to cover the cost of the Dining Plan the remaining balance is due at sign-up. If financial aid applied to the cost of the plan is reduced, after the cost of the plan is posted, the balance is due immediately. Non-payment will result in deactivating the Dining Plan.
