Effectiveness is how well an institution is meeting its mission and major goals. It is a cyclical process showing the extent to which a desired effect (outcome) is met. Effectiveness is dependent on how outcomes are written, achieved through planned interventions or initiatives, and measured and reported annually.
Compliance Assist is the online repository accessed through the FSW portal in which an administrative unit’s or academic program’s Effectiveness Plans are housed.
Outcome is the “desired effect of a service or intervention, but is much more specific than goals. These are often what students should be able to demonstrate after their participation, which are also defined as learning or developmental outcomes. Outcomes can also be programmatic. A programmatic outcome could be something like an increase in usage of a particular resource or service. It is participant focused.” (Henning, 2007).

OPO - Operational Outcome+
OPOs for Administrative Units develop around procedural or operational improvements. They address regular operational or procedural tasks, generally provide services or products, and develop from direct and indirect effects on students and all other stakeholders.
PRC - Program Review Component+
PRCs fulfill the Operational Outcome requirement for the academic degree programs. There are seven components for which Goals and Results need to be completed: Enrollment, Completion, Progression, Course Data, Success, and Satisfaction.
SLO - Student Learning Outcome+
SLOs identify what the learner will know and be able to do by the end of a course or program—the essential and enduring knowledge, abilities (skills) and attitudes (values, dispositions) that constitute the integrated learning needed by a graduate of a course or program.
SMART outcome statements should be written in a SMART manner: Specific, Measureable, Aggressive but Attainable, Results-oriented, and Time-bound.
SACS COC - Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges+
The recognized regional accrediting body in the 11 U.S. southern states, which includes Florida. Florida SouthWestern State College is a member institution of SACSCOC.
