A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a course of action for institutional improvement that addresses one or more issues contributing to student learning. Developing a QEP as a part of the reaffirmation of accreditation process is an opportunity to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue or issues that a college considers important to improving student learning. The primary goal of Florida SouthWestern State College’s QEP is to enable first-time-in-college students to become self-reliant learners who apply critical thinking skills. The Cornerstone Experience three-credit course will empower those students to enhance their learning and self-reliance by developing qualities and knowledge-based skills which will bolster their success at FSW and beyond.
