Collier's Buntic Earns Advisor Certification

Suzanne Buntic, the Edison State College Collier Campus Student Life Coordinator, has completed the Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA) Adviser Training program.

 

The FCSSGA Adviser Training (FAT) is a certification program sponsored by the Florida College System Activities Association and coordinated by the FCSSGA Advisers Association. The certification includes eight topics ranging from student/group development and meetings and activities to student government finance and the legislative process.

 

Buntic graduated from Edison Community College Collier Campus in 2000. While attending she was involved in clubs and organizations such as the Student Government Association (SGA), serving as President. She then earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), before rejoining Edison State College as the Student Life Coordinator. She earned her Masters in Professional Studies from Hodges University in December.

As the Student Life Coordinator, she manages student leadership, student activities, clubs and organizations, serves as the SGA advisor and co-advisor to the Multicultural Club. She also coordinates the Collier Project HOPE Scholarship Program, and for the past four years she has been awarded the Staff of the Year Award, which is voted on by the student body. Additional accolades at the state level include the highly prestigious Florida Junior Community Colleges Student Government Association (FJCCSGA) District One Advisor of the year Award in 2006, 2007, and 2009.  Last year she was awarded the highly prestigious Bob Graham Award for her dedication and service to the state of Florida.
