Edison College's Radiologic Technology Graduates Outperform Peers On National Exams

Edison College announces that the 2005 graduates of its accredited Radiologic Technology Program achieved a 100% pass rate on all national certification examinations.The 28 examinees mean scaled score of 89.8 surpassed the national scaled score of 84.8, and Florida's scaled score of 82.6. Technologists is the final step for each of these graduates to be nationally certified as Registered Radiologic Technologists in Radiography. Examination content covers concepts in radiation protection, medical imaging, equipment operation, quality control, image production/evaluation, radiographic procedures, and patient care.

The Class of 2005 also attained 100% job placement in hospitals and medical imaging facilities, with starting salaries typically ranging from $18 - $20 per hour plus fringes.

“The exceptional performance of our Radiologic Technology graduates is testament to their hard work in classroom and clinical studies over the past two years, and to the quality of our instructional and student services team,� said Paul Monagan, Associate District Dean, Health Professions.
