More than 2,800 graduate from Edison, FGCU this weekend

More than 2,800 local college students are turning the tassels on their graduation caps this week.
Edison State College held two commencement ceremonies Friday at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers. Edison students received bachelor's and associate's degrees, as well as certificates.
Florida Gulf Coast University follows with ceremonies at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. today at Alico Arena. FGCU students will receive master's and bachelor's degrees.
Each school's fall commencement ceremony includes students who completed their degree requirements in the summer or fall semester. Next year, the steadily-growing FGCU plans to add a third, summer ceremony.
