Sep 12, 2014

The Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Foundation appointed Paul J. Bova as Senior Director of Development.

“It’s a really exciting time to be here,” said Bova. “It’s a new beginning with the opportunity to build on the relationships that brought Edison from where it was to Florida SouthWestern State College today.”

Bova, who previously worked as Principal Gifts Officer for Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, possesses more than a decade’s worth of development experience with corporations, foundations, and other entities.

“Paul has worked with teams raising millions of dollars for major capital improvements – campaigns which exceeded everyone’s expectations – and we’re excited to have him at the Foundation to utilize that experience in achieving FSW’s goals,” said Dr. Louis J. Traina, vice president of Institutional Advancement at FSW.

Previously, Bova was involved in a number of major capital campaigns, including the $55 million “Norwich Forever” campaign in 2009 to raise funds for a student center, school-wide technology upgrades, scholarships, and endowments. By the end of the campaign, a total of $82 million had been raised.

He was also part of Norwich University’s three-year “Bearing the Torch” campaign to benefit the school’s football stadium, outdoor recreation center, and for additional student scholarships. When it concluded at the end of 2012, the campaign had collected $2 million more than its original goal of $20 million.

Bova earned his bachelor’s degree from Norwich University and as a professional focuses on building relationships between people and organizations.

Florida SouthWestern State College is Southwest Florida’s largest and one of the most affordable institutions of higher education.
