Construction begins on new nursing building

Nov 7, 2008

After years of planning and anticipation, construction on Edison State’s new nursing building is underway. Projected for completion in the summer of 2010, the nursing building will be built on the Lee Campus, adjacent to Walker Hall (Building A).

Phase I of the project, now underway, involves preparing trees located in the quad between Walker Hall and Edison Parkway, as well as the trees lining the circle drive on the south side of Walker Hall, for removal and relocation. The trees will be relocated on the Lee Campus.
In addition, within the next few weeks a construction fence will be set in place, closing off the quad and the circle drive.
A temporary sidewalk on the West side of Gresham Hall (Building B) will provide access to the south entrance of Walker Hall throughout construction.
In early January, construction will begin on additional parking where the tennis courts are currently located, as well as on the north side of Gresham Hall. Parking lots #1 and #2 will not be impacted during construction.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during construction and will provide regular updates on our progress as Edison State’s new nursing building comes to life.
