District – Edison State College congratulates Dunbar High School the ABC-7 Cool School winner for the Fall 2008 semester!

Edison State is proud to welcome Dunbar Senior Reva Franks to Edison State College in the Fall of ’09! Reva was selected to receive the grand prize of a one-year scholarship to Edison State.

“I’m really happy I was chosen, but there are so many students who deserve this,” Franks said humbly. “I really love this school.”

Each semester Edison State College teams up with ABC-7 News to find out which area high school has the most school spirit.

More than a month ago ABC-7 began asking all area public and private high schools to submit videos highlighting reasons their school is the coolest.

Once all the videos are in, students vote on-line at ABC-7.com to select the winning school. Dunbar principal Carl Burnside chose Ms. Franks because of her outstanding contributions throughout her years at Dunbar High.

“Reva is a great example of the type of student we welcome to Edison State College,” Dr. Robert Jones, Edison State College Lee Campus President. “We are excited about the many talents she’ll bring to our campus.”

Franks hopes to study technology and media.

Be on the lookout this spring for another “Cool Schools” competition. Beginning in April ABC-7 will announce another opportunity to win a one-year scholarship to Edison State College.
