Largest Spring Enrollment in Edison State History

On Wednesday, January 7th Edison State College will start a new semester of classes. So much is new this year – including many new faces. Enrollment is up 14-percent over Spring 2008. This marks another record breaking Spring semester enrollment of 12,711 students enrolled at our Campuses in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry/Glades and on-line. Enrollment as of January 5th Charlotte: 1,735 Collier: 2,265 Hendry/Glades: 383 Lee: 7,358 Online: 970 In addition to the new students, Edison will host it’s first ever Welcome Week. Beginning Wednesday through Tuesday, January 13th everyone on campus will enjoy a variety of fun activities ranging from live music to ice cream socials. Also new this semester, Edison State will begin offering new Bachelor Degree Programs in Supervision and Management and Elementary Education on the Lee County Campus. The first class of future firefighters starts classes this week in the newly opened Fire Academy partnership between Edison State and North Naples Fire and Rescue. In anticipation of the larger class Edison State has added more classes this semester. Classes are still available. Registration runs through Tuesday, January 13th.
