Development Officer hired for Lee Campus

Jan 6, 2009

Edward Kominowski has joined the Edison State College Foundation as a development officer for the College’s Lee Campus. Kominowski brings with him more than a decade of higher education fundraising, most recently having worked as the Executive Director of Development for the College of Engineering at The University of South Florida (USF). Prior to USF, he worked for three years as a development director for University of Florida, College of Engineering, and for the Indiana University Foundation in a variety of development positions over the course of nine years. With Edison State College experiencing double digit enrollment growth and expanding its offerings of four-year baccalaureate degrees, private sector donations will be critical for the College to expand scholarship opportunities, continue to enhance state-of-the-art facilities and engage outstanding faculty, according to Tracey Galloway, Edison State College Foundation vice president. "We know there are many individuals in our community who are either Edison alumni, or who are just interested in giving back to the community and want to make a difference in the lives of others," said Galloway. "Often these individuals just aren’t sure how to take that first step and get involved. We now have a person dedicated to reaching out to these potential donors and helping them build a relationship with Edison State." With an extensive background in capital campaigns, annual giving campaigns and planned giving, Kominowski is ready to turn his expertise and experience towards benefiting the students of Edison State College. "I was raised in a family of educators and grew up understanding the value of education and believing that everyone should have access to higher education opportunities," said Kominowski. "Education is the one great equalizer in our society." Kominowski will focus his efforts on securing private donations in support of existing and emerging student, faculty and community needs on the Lee Campus. Kominowski is a two-time graduate of Indiana University, having completed a Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications. # # # #
