Former Board Member has School Named in His Honor

Former Edison State College Board of Trustee member James Stevens will go down in education history. Tonight at 6:00 the Lee County School Board is expected to approve changing the name of Lee Middle School to The James Stephens International Academy. James Stephens has been an active leader in education in Lee County. He served on the Edison board from 1983 to 1987. “My family is very proud of this recognition,” says Fred Morgan, Stephen’s nephew and Edison State College Hope Scholar Director. “We can all admire the contributions he has made to education in Southwest Florida.
