Edison State College Students Make a Difference in Haiti

Edison State College students are making national headlines for their extraordinary efforts in Haiti.  Vinouth Pierre is working on her Bachelor of Science in Nursing while working full time as an RN in with NCH Healthcare System.  Pierre is one of a group of 25 who flew to Haiti last week as part of the Hope for Haiti Organization.

“I am really proud of these nurses’ humanitarian efforts,” said Gail Tracey, RN-BSN Nursing Program Specialist / Faculty.  “We pray for many of the students' families as some had not been able to contact family or lost family members.”

“This is an extraordinary response from students who are in school fulltime in the RN to BSN program as well as working full time,” said Dr. Mary Lewis, Associate Dean of Nursing at Edison State College.

The Naples Daily News and The News Press recently featured Pierre’s work in Haiti and the USA Today and other media outlets are featuring Pierre’s work.  To read the full articles please follow these links.
