Professor Marty Ambrose to present Essay as Part of Environmental Forum

Professor Marty Ambrose of Edison State College will read her essay, “I Dreamed of Florida” for the Forum on the Gulf of Mexico and the Oil Spill .Ambrose will be one of six authors reading an essay that he or she contributed to the book, UNSPOILED: Writer’s Speak for Florida’s Coast, a collection of compositions from 38 writers, scientists and students on the subject of the Florida Coast.

 

Promos for the book explain: “We Floridians love our sandy beaches. How could it possibly be worth damaging the health of Florida’s number- one economic engine- our coasts- for short term gain promised by Big Oil?”

 

Ambrose is the author of the Mango Bay Mystery Series, published by Avalon books. Peril in Paradise was published in March 2009 and was quickly followed by Island Intrigue and Murder in the Mangroves in 2010. Ambrose is currently working on the fourth book in the series. She has also published five romantic suspense novels with Kensington Books.

 

Professor Ambrose is an English Professor at Edison State College Lee campus, where she teaches Creative Writing. Stop by the Forum on the Gulf of Mexico and the Oil Spill on October 8th from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the FGCU Student Union Ballroom  to hear Professor Ambrose! The event is free and open to the public.
