SEPTEMBER 15, 2015 – PUNTA GORDA, FLA – Florida SouthWestern Collegiate-HS (FSWC) Charlotte was recently named one of America’s Top High Schools 2015 by Newsweek.
The Newsweek High School Rankings assess schools based on a broad range of data to determine which institutions do the best job of preparing students for college.
FSWC Charlotte ranked 154th out of 500 national schools in Beating the Odds 2015, which identifies schools that do an excellent job of preparing their students for college while also overcoming the obstacles posed by students at an economic disadvantage. FSWC Charlotte was also ranked 321st out of 500 schools in America’s Top High Schools 2015.
“The Newsweek rankings are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers,” said FSWC Principal Matthew Catanzarite. “The rankings are proof that our students are being thoroughly prepared for the rigors of college.”
FSWC Charlotte is designed to provide students of all ability levels an opportunity to graduate with both a high school degree and an Associate of Arts (AA) degree. The teaching methods used provide students an engaging learning environment and opportunities to receive additional educational resources through the high school and Florida SouthWestern State College.
