Admission Process

Each academic year FSWC-Charlotte will welcome a new 115-member ninth-grade class. It is mandatory for prospective students to attend an information session in February or March with a parent or guardian prior to submitting an application by the March deadline unless claiming sibling preference. Students are selected by a random lottery system with priority given to residents of Charlotte County.  Sibling and employee preference are granted upon verification. Lottery winners are notified by email and asked to accept or deny the seat. New students are invited in May to join us for a New Student Orientation.  Students not selected by the lottery are kept on a waiting list in the order in which their number was drawn.

To be eligible students must be certified by their middle school as ready to advance to the ninth grade. There is no GPA requirement or test score requirement; however, it is recommended that students and parents understand the academic rigors of a collegiate high school with all core classes being taught at the honors level. Students enter through an Academic Agreement that they will strive to maintain a 3.00 or higher grade point average while enrolled.

Please see the “Applications and Lottery” main tab for more specific information on the upcoming informational sessions, application dates, and lottery for the incoming Class of 2028.

If you are interested in being a part of FSWC and you are not entering 9th grade, please email our School Counselor at amber.foster-vasile@fsw.edu if your hope to transfer here as a rising sophomore, junior or senior.
