FSW Dean Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

JULY 22, 2014 – NAPLES, FLA. – Cindy Lewis, campus dean, Student Affairs and Academic Services, Florida SouthWestern State College Collier Campus, was recently awarded with the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administration’s (FASFAA) Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I am honored to have been chosen for this recognition,” Lewis said. “FASFAA is an organization that has been near and dear to me, and the training it provides to financial aid professionals greatly benefits Florida’s colleges and college students.”

“Cindy’s service to the college has been an inspiration to all of us,” said Dr. Robert Jones, Collier Campus President/Regional Vice President Economic & Community Development. “The support and guidance she has given to FSW’s students, the leadership she has provided to our staff and faculty, and her active participation in FASFAA are proof of her dedication not only to FSW but to all of higher education.”

To receive the award, honorees must have served in higher education financial aid position for no less than 10 years, served in a leadership position in FASFAA, and must be retiring.

Lewis has been a member of the association since 1986 and has served in a number of positions within the organization including president, vice president, sponsorship chair and legislative liaison. She also served as Financial Aid Director at FSW for 24 years. She will retire from FSW in fall 2014.
