Florida SouthWestern State College Hosts Annual “Family Math Night”

Oct 23, 2019

OCTOBER 23, 2019 – FORT MYERS, FLA. – Learn how fun math can be at “Family Math Night” from 5:45-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, in Building U, Room 102, at the Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Lee Campus, 8099 College Parkway.

This free, family-oriented event for students in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade features fun math games created by teacher candidates in FSW’s School of Education, demonstrating how mathematics doesn’t only need to be something you use at school.

“Learning mathematics can often be intimidating to students,” said JoAnne Devine, professor of Elementary Education at FSW. “We are happy to show young students and their families that math can be fun!”

While the event is open to anyone interested in exploring mathematics, students are encouraged to register by sending an e-mail to familymathnight@fsw.edu. For questions about Family Math Night at FSW, please email jdevine1@fsw.edu.
