School Advisory Council (SAC)/Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

The School Advisory Council, known as SAC, authorized by Florida State Statute, has as its primary purpose to review relevant data, identify problem areas, develop improvement strategies, and monitor their implementation. The council shall establish other purposes, as necessary, to advance the quality of the educational experiences at Florida SouthWestern Collegiate High School– Charlotte. Ideal membership in SAC will include: 2 parents from each grade level, an SGA Rep, the Principal, a Faculty Member, a College Rep, and a Community Rep.  All parents and stakeholders are invited to all SAC meetings.

A Parent Advisory Council (PAC) has been created to help our parents participate in a shared model of decision-making for our school.  PAC meetings will take place on the last Thursday of each month at 7:30 am with the first meeting taking place on Aug. 26th.  All parents are invited to all PAC meetings.  The dates and topics for 2021-2022 will be posted below.  Please consider joining Principal Wier and other staff members for coffee and collaboration.

Aug. 26th – First meeting was more of a “meet and greet” session. Parents were asked about topics they would like to discuss throughout the year.

Sept. 30th – Focus this month was “Academic Progress Monitoring” We discussed what strategies the school teaches students about monitoring their grades and developing their self-advocacy skills.  A sophomore student logged in and showed parents how students navigate Canvas to view their grades and teacher comments on assignments.
