Edison State College and Lee County Math Council present “Family Math Night”.  Students in grades 3- 10 are encouraged to attend the family- oriented event centered on fun math games. The purpose of the event is to show students and parents that Math is fun! Attending families will play games created by Edison State College School of Education students.

The Media and the Public are invited to attend “Family Math Night” on March 23rd from 6:00p.m- 8:00p.m. in Building AA Room 177 at Edison State College, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.  The event is free, but students are encouraged to register at  familymathnight@edison.edu.  Pizza and drinks will be available for a nominal cost.

“Learning mathematics successfully requires a joint effort between home and school. Research shows students that work cooperatively with their parents have higher academic achievement,” explained Mary Robertson, Professor of Mathematics Education at Edison State College, and the event organizer.

Robertson is an expert in the field. She has been a Mathematics teacher for the past 26 years, having taught at the middle school, high school, and college level.
