Collier Campus' Health Sciences Hall Near Completion

The Allen & Marla Weiss Health Sciences Hall is nearing completion on the Edison State College Collier Campus. The first  classes in the  building are scheduled for the Spring semester.

 

“It’s exciting to see this building taking shape, knowing all the hands-on learning opportunities it will afford our students,” said Dr. Robert R. Jones, Interim Campus President. “This building will have the latest technology so our students get as close to real world, hands-on experience as possible. This means they are even better prepared to enter to workforce.”

 

According to Frank Stout, project Manager, GATES, the general contractor for the building, work continues on the installation of the terrazzo tile, nursing area flooring and the exterior sidewalks. Landscaping work is also under way.

 

The Allied Health Services Building, which encompasses about 43,500 square feet and will have nursing and related labs, classroom and administrative space on the first floor, with chemistry and biology labs, classrooms and administrative space on the second floor. An exterior patio will be on the roof.

 

The Edison State College Collier Campus, 7007 Lely Cultural Parkway, is located off Collier Boulevard, three miles north of Tamiami Trail East.
