Free Poetry Reading Feb. 11

Edison State College Collier Campus, in conjunction with the Florida Literacy Arts Coalition, is hosting a free poetry reading featuring Tim Seibles. The event is open to students and the public and will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 in the J Building, Room 103 on the Collier Campus. Tim Seibles is renowned for his streetwise, syncopated poems that cover such wide ranging topics from basketball, dogs and race to the inner life of cartoon  characters. He has published five books of poetry and his work has appeared in several journals, including The Kenyon Review and Black American Literary Forum. His poem, "Allison Wolf," was included in The Best American Poetry 2010 Anthology. He teaches in the English department and MFA in writing program at Old Dominion University, as well as teaching in the University of Southern Maine's low-residential Stonecoast MFA program.
