The national search for a new district president for Edison State College is steady and strong.

“There is a lot of interest in the position,” said J. Dudley Goodlette, interim District President.

In order to keep the public informed about the presidential search, a website has been developed at edison.edu/president/search/. This website offers information that includes job description, presidential qualifications and a comprehensive position profile.  It will also include timely updates in the search process.

Last month, the 13-member Presidential Search Advisory Committee met for the first time. Members will review all of the resumes and information supplied by presidential candidates. This same information will be available on the public website.

The committee members expect to have three additional meetings. Next month they will meet to cull the applicant pool to eight or 10. They will meet again to interview the candidates they have selected. In late May or early June they will meet to choose no less than three and no more than five finalists. They will give their list of finalists to members of the Edison State College District Board of Trustees who will make arrangements to interview the finalists sometime in June.

The trustees hope to hire a district president by August, 2012. All meetings are public and the next advisory committee meeting will be posted on the website as soon as it is scheduled.
