It is a sad day at Edison State College as we grieve the loss of Jaime Lee DeSpirito. Jaime, 19, died in a car accident early Saturday morning in Fort Myers. Jaime was an Edison State College student studying to be a social worker.

“It is a very sad day for us,” said J. Dudley Goodlette, Interim District President of Edison State College. “We have lost a member of our Edison State family. We pray for the DeSpirito family and grieve for their terrible loss.”

A viewing takes place today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Service at Lee Memorial Park in Fort Myers. The funeral service will be held Saturday at McGregor Baptist Church. The time has not been announced.

The Gateway Gives Foundation has established a fund to help the family pay for the funeral and other costs. The family lives in the Gateway community in Fort Myers.
