Edison State College Administrator Recognized as Healthcare Hero

Edison State College Nursing Leader, Dr. Denise McNulty, was honored with the Nurse’s Excellence in Healthcare Award during the 2013 Here’s to our Heroes awards luncheon. Here's to our Heroes is a program created and sponsored by the Naples Daily News – Here’s to your Health magazine. This program, in its third year, recognizes excellence, promotes innovation and educates the community about best practices to enhance the value and quality of health care in Southwest Florida.
“Dr. McNulty is truly deserving of this award,” said Dr. Jeff Allbritten, President, Edison State College. “She is a dedicated Leader who works tirelessly to enhance the profession of nursing through her volunteer service in several professional nursing organizations consistently promoting excellence in nursing and healthcare in our region.”
More than 100 nominations were submitted for this honor. To be considered for this award requires a nominee to have a purpose of helping, healing, and saving lives. A panel of local healthcare leaders served as judges to review the nominations and to determine the winners in each category. All nominees are individuals who make a difference in the health of our community by putting the needs of others before themselves.
“I am so honored to receive this award, and feel fortunate to be able to serve our community in such a positive way,” said Dr. Denise McNulty, DNP, MSN, ARNP, Associate Dean of Nursing, Edison State College. “I enjoy bringing nurses in our community together to work collaboratively in promoting advanced education, leadership development, and lifelong learning for nurses. Nursing in our region is well positioned to embrace the changes in healthcare.”
