Edison State College Hosts Graduation Night with Charlotte Stone Crabs

May 7, 2013

Despite the rainy weather and uncertainty of the day, the Charlotte Stone Crabs continued their regularly scheduled game on May 2, 2013 against the Jupiter Hammerheads. Edison State College, an official sponsor of the Stone Crabs, hosted their graduation night for the seniors who received their diplomas on May 3, 2013 at Germain Arena.

Michael Beane, Director of Student Life at Edison State, threw the ceremonial first pitch. Then the crowd stood as Edison State students, under the direction of Sherie Ragan, lead the crowd in singing the national anthem. Students took in the festivities by promoting Edison with pertinent information, enjoying time with faculty and staff while taking in some well-deserved baseball time.

Dr. Patricia Land, campus president along with Sarah Dugas, M.A., Marketing Associate for Edison were very excited about the turnout and the future games with Edison’s contribution.

“We value our involvement in the community, just as the Stone Crabs organization does, so a partnership is good for both of us,” said Dr. Land. “We look forward to working with them to offer the community a variety of events that inform and entertain.” Edison will be hosting many other events and nights at the Stone Crabs games in the coming year, so be on the lookout for upcoming activities.
