Edison State College Offers Refresher Course for Nurses Starting July 13

Edison State College Continuing Education is offering a Nurse Remedial course that is Florida State approved by the Department of Health, Board of Nursing, which will prepare or update nurses who wish to return to a nursing career. Classes will begin July 13 on the Ft. Myers Campus, and the Naples classes will be announced soon. To register, or to learn more about this course, visit http://www.edison.edu/ce/courses/health.

“Nurses are extremely important to the success of the healthcare system,” said Adrian Kerr, Associate Dean and Director of Continuing Education for Edison State College. “We are happy to offer this course that will provide a ‘refresher’ for those who wish to either step back into their nursing careers, or for graduate students who want to have additional reinforcement of studies learned.”

This course is designed for Registered Nurses and LPNs who are re-entering the work force, as well as the Graduate Nurse in need of remediation. The program consists of didactic (96 hours; 42 hours lecture; 54 hours Home Study) plus clinical experiences (96 hours). Lectures, home studies, skills lab and acute hospital clinical experiences are provided in a relaxed atmosphere to promote learning. The course will review anatomy, psychology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, the nursing process and current trends in nursing. Emphasis will be placed on the National Patient Safety Goals and how these goals improve the delivery of safe patient care.
