Edison State College Dean, Dr. Erin Harrel, to Serve as FACTE State President-Elect

Dr. Erin Harrel, Dean, School of Education at Edison State College was elected the state president-elect for the Florida Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (FACTE) for 2014-2015.  Dr. Harrel is the first Dean from the Florida State College System to be elected to this position, and will serve as the FACTE President in 2016-2018.

“It is a great honor to serve as the FACTE state president-elect.  I look forward to the many opportunities our profession will have due to the participation of so many excellent professionals in the field of education,” said Dr. Harrel. “It is such an honor to be offered this opportunity.”

FACTE provides leadership on issues related to professional education, with primary focus on teacher education and promotes effective public policy regarding professional education, enhances and improves professional education programs at member institutions, and enhances the professional effectiveness of members. The purpose of the Association is to promote ideas and practices, through cooperative endeavors among public and private colleges and universities in the State of Florida that would improve the quality of performance of professional school personnel.
