Florida SouthWestern State College and Studio FSW Garner Multiple AFC Marketing Awards

NOVEMBER 14, 2014 – FORT MYERS, FLA. – During the 65th annual convention of the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) held in Destin, Fla., Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) and Studio FSW, the public relations and marketing department of Florida SouthWestern State College, garnered multiple awards from the AFC Communications and Marketing Commission. Over 200 award submissions from Florida’s 28 state and community colleges were judged by public relations, advertising, marketing, and industry professionals.
Studio FSW was the Communication and Marketing Commission’s exemplary practice award winner for its rebranding of Florida SouthWestern State College.
In the Advertising-Print category, Studio FSW placed first for its “New Name, Same Mission” advertisement and third for its “If Life is a Journey” advertisement. Studio FSW also placed first in the Article/Story Pitch Resulting in Publication category for the article “Veteran Starts a New Career Path After Graduation”; first in the Direct Mail/Campaign category for its “Your Moment is Now” postcard; first in the Best Bang for the Buck category for the informational “Buc Head”; and first in the Advertising-Television category for the FSW television commercial series.
Additionally, Studio FSW received third place in the Advertising-Radio category for the FSW radio commercial and third place in the Redesign category for the redesign of the FSW School of Health Professions brochure.
The college placed second in the Website category for its newly redesigned FSW website; second in the Faculty Advised/Student Publication category for its Illuminations literary magazine; and third in the Poster category for the Office of Student Life Spring Mania poster.
