Jun 30, 2008

Edison College District President Kenneth P. Walker announces the appointment of Tracey Galloway as the Edison College Foundation Vice President of Development effective July 1, 2008.

"Tracey has played a significant role in securing scholarship endowments and private funding to support Edison College's tremendous growth in programs and services," said Walker. "We are delighted that she has accepted additional responsibility for the Foundation's strategic planning and fund raising initiatives."

Galloway joined the college in 1995 as Resource Development Officer. She advanced to the position of District Director of Development in 2002, and worked closely with the College's administration and Foundation board members to grow the Edison College Foundation, Inc. Current assets of $55 million include $40 million earmarked for scholarships, with the remainder supporting academic initiatives and partial funding for a future campus in LaBelle.

In her new role, Galloway will work with Walker to lead the fund-raising enterprise, including donor development, stewardship of private gifts, planned giving, annual giving, and foundation and corporate philanthropy to advance the college's mission and priorities.

Galloway holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northwood University, and Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

She expressed enthusiasm about her role in the future growth and development of Edison College. "It is an exciting time for the Foundation, especially with the new state college designation and the vast opportunities that will follow. I am grateful for the confidence placed in me by Dr. Walker, and for the support of our wonderful Foundation board members," she said.

Galloway, husband Robert, and two children, Olivia and Wil, live in Fort Myers.
