Edison State College is pleased to announce that three Collier Campus nominees have received prestigious Bob Graham Awards.

Named for the former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator, Bob Graham awards are presented each year for distinguished service in four categories: student, employee, community supporter, and student advisor.

Nominated by the SGA, Collier Campus nominees have set an unprecedented record by receiving awards in three of the four categories. The awards were presented April 9, 2010 at the Annual FJCCSGA President’s Assembly in Tallahassee.

The Employee award went to James Stewart (Jim).  Stewart has provided exemplary service on the Collier Campus for over 25 years.

Receiving the Student Award was Vicky Ramirez. Ramirez is the daughter of immigrant workers, who didn’t think she would have the opportunity to earn a college education. She is now in her second year at Edison and looking forward to graduating in Fall 2010.

The Community Supporter award went to State Representative Matt Hudson who has been a long standing member of the South Florida community and has worked with various boards, committees, and civic organizations.
