New Associate Dean to Oversee College Prep at Edison State College

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Eileen DeLuca has been selected as the new Associate Dean for College Prep/Developmental Studies. She will assume her duties on July 1. Dr. DeLuca has been a part of the Edison State College community for many years, first as a student in the early 1990s, later as an adjunct instructor, and most recently as Professor of Education and ESOL coordinator for the past two years. She has served as discipline chair for the School of Education during the past academic year. Dr DeLuca holds a B.S degree, in English Education, an M.S. in T.E.S.O.L  (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Multicultural Education K-12, and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in ESOL/Bilingual Education and minor in Linguistics.

Dr. DeLuca brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position. She possesses expertise in curriculum development and assessment. She has worked as a consultant and researcher, and has published in the area of ESOL and multi-cultural education. As a full-time teacher, she has delivered instruction in a variety of areas including S.A.T. preparation, Adult and Community Education, English, Education, Critical Thinking, and E.A.P. (English for Academic Purposes), and is the recipient of numerous teaching and best practices awards. I am delighted to have Dr. DeLuca accept this position of leadership, and look forward to working with her in this area in this very important work that is so vital to the mission of Edison State College.
