Biography

A proven leader and educator with over 30 years of telecommunications and information technology experience who treasures a team environment, continual education, and philanthropic endeavors.

Dr. Ken Belcher graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University. Successfully managed Food and Beverage establishments before serving in the United States Air Force. He served in the USAF in telecommunications as a Network Engineer and Database Manager. He was awarded the highest Air Force Volunteerism Award for his philanthropic work with the Student Mentor program. Successfully led the migration of regional Air Force databases for the telecommunications career field. He graduated with honors with a Master's from Webster University in Computer Resources and Information Systems during his tenure with the USAF.

Dr. Ken Belcher jointly accepted positions at WorldCom and San Antonio College in 2000, responsible for the development and support of the billing system of choice for WorldCom with over $25 billion in annual revenue as the Production Support and Development Manager. He taught Information Technology classes as Adjunct Faculty in the evenings. Following the restructuring from WorldCom to MCI, he transitioned to Production Support for Systems Operations, ensuring 99.9% uptime by providing 24x7 support of critical systems. As a Texas Realtor, he aided businesses and residents in real estate transactions. During the transition from MCI to Verizon, he concentrated on higher education, graduating with honors from Northcentral University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems, with dissertation research focused on the social barriers to the use of digitized medical records.

Dr. Ken Belcher jointly accepted positions at Chico's FAS and the University of the Cumberlands in 2018, providing Digital Commerce Support for Chico's FAS with over $900 million in annual online sales and $2.5 billion in organizational revenue. As an Adjunct, he taught graduate-level Information Technology online classes at the University of the Cumberlands and Abilene Cristian University. He accepted a Faculty Professor position at Florida Southwestern in 2022.

Dr. Ken Belcher has served in many philanthropic organizations. Most notably, as the President of the CBTM organization, which focuses on Wounded Warriors and Education. Outside of career, educational, and charitable pursuits, Dr. Belcher is an active fisherman, captain, and scuba diver. Focusing on many types of water sports and frequenting the Florida Keys in the quest for lobster, snapper, dorado, and wahoo, in addition to the tranquility of the great outdoors.
