Dr. Martin Tawil, President

Dr. Martin Tawil is currently serving as the First Year Experience Professor and Lead Faculty. Dr. Tawil has been teaching online courses since 2008. In addition, he also teaches graduate level courses for aspiring school administrators. Since arriving at FSW, Dr. Tawil served as the Coordinator of Assessment and Student Success for the School of Education. Dr. Tawil is committed to community involvement; he is currently serving as the parent representative on the City of Cape Coral Charter School Board. He also served on the SAANYS (School Administrators Association of New York State) Board Trustees for several years. In addition to higher education, Dr. Tawil held administrative and teaching position in the K-12 arena for about ten years. Dr. Tawil is a True Colors Certified Facilitator and has conducted numerous workshops for FSW State and the local schools.

Reference Librarian, Lee Campus. I received my MLS from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and I have been at FSW since 2001. I have previously worked at Howard University, The University of Tennessee, Central Michigan University, and Montgomery County (Maryland) Public Libraries. I am currently Treasurer of the Union, Co Advisor of the GSA in Ft. Myers, and serve as Chair of the state-wide LIS 2004 Course Revision Committee. I am married and live in Naples.

Dr. Rebecca Harris, Vice President

Dr. Rebecca Harris is a Professor of English and Cornerstone at the Thomas Edison (Lee) Campus. She taught at the Charlotte Campus of FSW from 2012-2015. Dr. Harris received her PhD in 2012 from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Dr. Harris writes and presents regularly on higher education policy, digital pedagogy, composition pedagogy, and women's and gender studies. She is currently working on a book about general education, activist teaching, and the politics of higher ed.
