Aug 11, 2015

Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Head Baseball Coach Jamie Corr has added Casey Buckley to his coaching staff. Buckley will serve as the pitching coach for the Bucs.

Coach Buck is one of the top young pitching coaches in the country,” said Corr. “He brings a tireless work ethic and experience on several different levels to our program."

Buckley comes to FSW after spending one season at the University Rhode Island and a summer with the Ocean State Waves of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). At URI he guided the pitching staff to a team ERA of 4.07, while the team went 26-25 and advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship game. Buckley served as pitching coach for the Waves and also served as the club's strength & conditioning advisor.

Prior to his stint in Rhode Island, he spent the 2014 season at Dowling College, where he served as the assistant pitching coach as well as the team's scouting director. In his one season with the Golden Lions, he helped guide the pitching staff to the best team ERA in all of Division II (2.42). Additionally, Dowling posted an overall record of 36-17, claimed the regular season conference title and advanced to the finals of the NCAA East Regional.

As a collegiate player, Buckley was a member of the baseball team at Rutgers-Newark (D-III) from 2010-12 before transferring to Dowling (D-II) for the 2013 season. The Naples, Fla. native graduated from Dowling in 2014, with a Bachelor’s Degree in History, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in American History.
