Oct 9, 2015

Former Vermont State Senator Randy Brock, who announced his candidacy for lieutenant governor of Vermont on Oct. 1, was appointed to the Florida SouthWestern State College Foundation (FSW) Board of Directors this summer.

Brock, who also served as Vermont’s 28th State Auditor, joins the voluntary Board of Directors, which is comprised of a wide variety of business and civic leaders. The board manages over $50 million in Foundation assets.

“The Honorable Randy Brock has a distinguished career in financial management and brings to the board refined skills that he developed as Vermont’s State Auditor, one of that state’s five Constitutional Officers,” said Dr. Louis Traina, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “We welcome his experience and leadership.”

Brock served eight years on the National Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association and was chair of the board of the Hodges University Foundation.  He was appointed by former President George W. Bush to the Board of Visitors for the United States Military Academy at West Point, and served as the board’s elected vice-chair in 2010 and 2011.

Prior to entering public service, he was executive vice president for risk oversight at Fidelity Investments, one of the world’s largest providers of financial services.  He previously was CEO of one of America’s 500 fastest growing companies, a business that he founded.  He currently sits on the board of ipCapital Group, a national leader in intellectual property strategy.

Brock holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College and a Master of Arts degree from Yale University.  He served in Vietnam as a captain in the Army Military Police Corps. Brock holds the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service and the Army Commendation Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster.
