FSW’s Sindee Karpel Elected to Lambda Beta National Executive Board

MARCH 15, 2016 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Respiratory Care Professor Sindee Karpel was recently elected to serve as the Four-Year Baccalaureate Program representative on the Lambda Beta Society executive board of directors. The Lambda Beta Society is the National Honor Society for the Profession of Respiratory Care. The Associate of Science in Respiratory Care is one of eleven health career degrees offered in FSW’s School of Health Professions and the program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

Prior to being nominated and accepted as a member of the Executive Board for the Lambda Beta Society, Karpel helped establish FSW’s Lambda Beta Chapter and served as the FSW college official since its charter.

“I look forward to serving on the national executive board of directors of Lambda Beta Society as a representative of FSW,” Karpel said. “This will bring national attention and prestige to the college and our students who are current and future members of the Lambda Beta Society.”

About The Lambda Beta Society: The National Honor Society for the Profession of Respiratory Care was formed in 1986 to promote, recognize and honor scholarship, scholarly achievement, service, and character of students, graduates, and faculty members of the profession. The name of the society is based on the goals of the Respiratory Care profession: sustaining “life and breath” for all mankind. Lambda (?) is the Greek letter “L”, and beta (?) is the Greek letter “B”. Lambda Beta Society currently has over 100 Chapters established at Respiratory Care programs across the United States.
