FSW Students Joined 2016 All-Florida Academic Team

Florida SouthWestern State College is honored to have five students recognized by the Florida College System.  These students joined the 2016 All-Florida Academic Team due to their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service to the southwest Florida region.  The All Florida Academic Team Awards Ceremony took place on April 21 in Tampa, and the FSW students who were honored are:

  • Illya Bjazevic – Thomas Edison (Lee) Campus
  • Austin Bouhebent – Charlotte Campus
  • Emily Casey – Thomas Edison (Lee) Campus
  • Ryan Rigley – Charlotte Campus
  • Marcelo Taborga-Castro – Collier Campus

 

“We are extremely proud of our students at FSW,” said Kristi Rickman, Associate Dean, Student Life and Orientation at FSW.  “It is rewarding to everyone at FSW when our students are recognized for their outstanding achievements and dedication.”

The 2016 All-Florida Academic Team is comprised of 128 students from 29 Florida colleges.  To be considered for the team, students are nominated by their respective colleges.

Florida SouthWestern State College is Southwest Florida’s largest and one of the most affordable institutions of higher education. Annually serving nearly 22,000 students globally, FSW offers a variety of nationally-ranked, career-focused academic programs with two- and four-year degrees, and professional certifications. Students are also active in clubs and programs catered to their interests. FSW debuted its intercollegiate athletics program in January 2016.
