April 3, 2017 – Fort Myers, FLA – The Community for Accredited Online Schools has ranked Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) as one of the best colleges offering online learning in Florida. Of the 394 state universities, colleges and vocational schools in the state, FSW ranked 40th.

To qualify, schools must hold public or private not-for-profit status in addition to institutional accreditation. Top schools are determined by a scoring system that uses value-based methodology, analyzing several qualitative and quantitative data points.

“We wanted to highlight schools like Florida SouthWestern State College, who are providing exceptional education programs online,” said Doug Jones, CEO and Founder of the Community for Accredited Online Schools. “These colleges offer an outstanding educational experience, upholding rigorous accreditation standards and show an overall commitment to maximizing student success.”

“We’re pleased that we ranked in the top 10 percent of our sister institutions in Florida,” said Dr. Jeff Allbritten, president, FSW. “This is the result of the exceptional efforts and caring of our faculty, staff and administrators to help ensure our students receive an education that leads to a career. Most of our students remain here in southwest Florida, trained and ready to fill high-demand, much-needed professions.”

Florida SouthWestern State College is Southwest Florida’s largest and one of the most affordable institutions of higher education. Annually serving nearly 22,000 students globally, FSW offers a variety of nationally-ranked, career-focused academic programs with two- and four-year degrees, and professional certifications. Students are also active in clubs and programs catered to their interests. FSW debuted its intercollegiate athletics program in the fall 2015. Visit www.FSW.edu for more information.
