FSW to Honor Veterans, 9-11 First Responders Nov. 9

Military veterans and first responders will be honored during a ceremony to be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 on the Fort Myers campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. The event is hosted by the Troops and Students Connect (T.a.S.C.) Club, made up of FSW student veterans. The event, located in Building U, Room 102, is free and open to the public.

Prior to the event, FSW students will place 2,977 American flags in the grass in front of Building U. The flags are for each person who died in the September 11 attacks in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania.

Scheduled speakers include Lt. Angelo Vaughn of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office; The Honorable Brian Hamman, Lee County Commissioner; Elizabeth L. Heath; and Matthew Holliday, Director of Government Relations at FSW.
