FSWC-Charlotte Named a National Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Department of Education

SEPTEMBER 30, 2019 – PUNTA GORDA, FLA – Florida SouthWestern State College Collegiate High School Charlotte (FSWC-Charlotte) was one of 362 schools in the nation to be named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2019 by the U.S. Department of Education.


Schools are nominated and are eligible to receive the National Blue Ribbon School award based on overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps. FSWC-Charlotte met the award criteria based on its overall academic excellence as an Exemplary High Performing School.

 

“Being named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education proves that FSWC-Charlotte continues to meet the rigorous academic expectations we have set for ourselves and our students,” said Dr. Michelle Weir, FSWC-Charlotte principal. “We are proud of the family and school partnerships we have built in the last decade since opening our doors in 2009. Achieving the Blue Ribbon level of distinction shows our community that we are truly committed to providing an outstanding high school experience for our students.”
