FSW Music Program Holds Faculty Recital

OCTOBER 14, 2019 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Music lovers can enjoy an evening of classical and modern works during the Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) music program’s annual faculty recital, Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Building J, Room 117/118, at the FSW Lee Campus, 8099 College Parkway. The recital is free and open to the public.

Works performed will range in style from the Baroque era, through the late Romantic period, and into the twentieth century, including solo works, brass quintet and jazz. They will include “Concierto de Aranjuez,” by Joaquin Rodrigo, arranged for trumpet and flugelhorn by the artist; Albinoni’s Concerto in B-flat; a world premiere of “Post Modern Rhapsody for Trumpet and Piano” by local composer, Kelly O’Neil; Eugene Ysaye’s “Andante;” along with brass quintet and jazz selections performed by the FSW Faculty Brass Quintet and the FSW Faculty Jazz Ensemble.

FSW performers include Cindy Scaruffi-Klispie, trumpet and flugelhorn; Rodolfo Antonio Castillo, piccolo trumpet; Dr. Tom Smith, trumpet; Rachel Cox, violin; Kevin Mauldin, bass; Julius “Juice” Davis, piano; George Mancini, trombone; Gary Leone, drums; Mike Molloy, guitar; Dana Williams, French horn; Todd Handley, tuba; and faculty accompanist, Mary Griffin Seal.
