FSW Corporate Training Center Offers Drinking Water and Wastewater Operators Training Classes

DECEMBER 11, 2020 – FORT MYERS, FLA – The Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Corporate Training Center is offering five Florida Department of Environmental Protection certified classes and certificate programs this spring at the FSW Lee Campus, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.

Water Class Certifications are granted after 108 clock hours; each class session is 3 hours long and meets twice a week for 18 weeks.

  • Wastewater Class C (entry level) meets 6-9 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 11
  • Wastewater Class B (mid level) meets 6-9 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 11
  • Drinking Water Class C (entry level) meets 6-9 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Jan. 15
  • Drinking Water Class B (mid level) meets 6-9 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Jan. 15
  • Wastewater and Drinking Water Class A (highest level) meets 6-9 p.m., Fridays, and 3-6 p.m., Saturdays, beginning Jan. 15

These training certification classes prepare students for the state of Florida’s drinking water and wastewater licensing exams. Class C and B wastewater and drinking water operators can see salaries ranging from $40,000-$67,000 a year.

Rapid credentialing scholarships are available for the first 20 students who register. Scholarships will cover all tuition and required books for a $950 value. Courses require a high school diploma or GED, and students must be a Florida resident to qualify.
