FSW launches fall “Career?Connection” lecture series connecting students and community with industry leaders

AUGUST 14, 2025 – FORT MYERS, Fla.— Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) will hold its fall Career Connection Lecture Series, a free professional development initiative designed to link students and residents with regional industry leaders and career opportunities across southwest Florida. The series supports FSW’s mission to deliver exceptional workforce development opportunities. Each event will include time for questions and informal networking with speakers. All events are free and open to the public. “Exploring careers in legal advocacy, public service and prosecution” When: Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6 p.m. Where: FSW Lee Campus, Fort Myers, Building U, Room 102 Richard Montecalvo, chief assistant state attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit, will provide insights into careers within the legal system, including prosecution, public service and legal advocacy opportunities. “STEM careers in environmental research and conservation” When: Thursday, Sept.?25, 1 p.m. Where: Hendry/Glades Curtis Center, LaBelle, Building A Nicole Enriquez, community volunteer ambassador at Big Cypress Preserve, and Craig Frey, Hendry County extension director for UF/IFAS, will explore career pathways in environmental research, conservation and natural resource management careers. “Inspired insights from FSW President?Jeffery?Allbritten” When: Tuesday, Oct.?14, noon Where: FSW Lee Campus, Fort Myers, Building U, Room 102 FSW President Jeffery Allbritten will offer leadership advice and discuss pathways to professional success. Government week programming When: Oct.?20–23 FSW will host public sector leaders from Collier County, Fort Myers, LaBelle and Charlotte County during Florida City Government Week to spotlight careers in public service and municipal administration. NCH Health System days at FSW When: Nov.?4–5 The series concludes with healthcare career exploration featuring executives from NCH Health System, covering medical, administrative and support roles across Southwest Florida.
