New AI certification from FSW helps professionals build skills that set them apart

AUGUST 15, 2025 - FORT MYERS, FLA. ---- Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) is launching a new AI-Ready Professional Course series and certification this fall to working professionals build practical, career-focused skills in artificial intelligence. The Zoom-based series begins Tuesday, Sept. 2 and covers how AI can enhance communication, decision-making, and mentorship. Participants who complete the program will earn a certificate demonstrating their applied understanding of AI tools in the workplace. The AI-Ready Professional Course series includes six individual courses, each priced at $79, allowing participants to choose the topics most relevant to their goals. Learners who complete all six courses available as a bundled package for $399 will earn the full AI-Ready Professional Certificate, demonstrating their comprehensive, applied skills in artificial intelligence. Courses are as follows: • Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2 p.m. - AI for Confident Communication • Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2 p.m. - Smart Mentorship • Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2 p.m. - Present Like a Pro • Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2 p.m. - Insightful Decisions • Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2 p.m. - AI-Driven Project Leadership • Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2 p.m. - Data Demystified As AI continues to transform industries, demand for professionals with practical AI skills is rising 71% of recent job postings now prefer candidates with AI experience. Yet, most employees using AI tools at work have not received formal training, revealing a critical skills gap. FSW’s new program directly addresses this need, aligning with the college’s mission to equip the region’s workforce with future-ready, ethical tech skills through its Institute of Innovation and Emerging Technologies.
